On the basis of my presentation at Club Assembly last month, I return to you with the following details that follow basically in the path as those that I have observed in Nigel’s year of office in Club Service.  I cannot see any reason at this stage for change, if it ain‘t broke, why try to fix it.

The committee this year has swelled by some 40% in numbers from five to now seven members ‘The Magnificent Seven’.  With Nigel’s move to the President’s Office, Robin moves into keep an eye on us, and Big Yin (Ian Mac) comes on board complete with his reporter’s pad, not forgetting myself of course.  Richard Ashton, Roy Burge, Martyn Kirby & Chris Sharp are all there again to give us continuity from the previous year.

We will continue to utilise the Bulletin as a means of outlining in some detail the main themes of our remit, namely those covering Membership, Welfare, Attendance, Speaker Finding, Visitor Days/ Guest Evenings, District Conference and Assembly, Charter Luncheon, District Quiz, Public Relations, and Communications etc.

During the coming year, we will meet on a regular basis, but not too often and I am sure that most matters discussed and put forward to council will go through without too much problem, unless they are of a controversial nature, and with the remit from RIBI to swell our numbers, we will continue to look forward to recruiting and inducting new members into the Club.

Through Chris Sharp, we will endeavour to see that the Club takes every opportunity to project the name of Rotary within the community through maximum exposure in the local tabloids and that prestigious glossy magazine by the way of securing coverage on the various projects that are organised by our committees within the club.
